Destroy Lonely delivers a stank-face-inducing bar
This week’s lyric comes from the over-hated Love Lasts Forever released by Destroy Lonely two weeks ago. Personally, I don’t hate the album. Was it better than NS+? Fuck no. But, is it an incessant cacophony? Also, no. So without further ado, I present the lyric of the week:
“Honestly, honestly, that's probably not your ho. She just let me Michael Jordan dunk all on her throat, yeah (Yeah)”
That’s it. That’s the bar. There isn’t much else to say. The imagery is perfectly executed to be visceral and jarring. Somehow the shock value is just eloquent enough that the line doesn’t come off as an obsequious attempt to satisfy listeners. When executed in this way, such an affective bar induces the perfect expression known to man: a grimace of indomitable disgust.
